A Look Back and Ahead

This month, Green Mountain Space celebrates four years of helping clients create organized, beautiful spaces that bring peace and efficiency into their daily lives. What started as a dream has grown into a thriving business, serving homes across Western North Carolina with professional organizing, decluttering, packing, and styling services. As we reflect on our journey, we are filled with gratitude for our incredible clients, dedicated team, and the community that has supported us every step of the way.

Reflecting on Four Years of Growth

In 2020, I left corporate America and pursued a license to become an Elementary School Educator. However, I quickly realized that teaching under the pressures of North Carolina regulations was not for me. I have always been the person family members, friends, and colleagues called when their lives were messy and their space was out of control. I would calmly go to people's homes thinking we were just going to talk, and I found myself naturally tidying and organizing their spaces while they processed their thoughts. After they were done talking through their grievances—whether it was losing a loved one, work stress, or relationship trauma—they had a safe, calm, and organized space to emotionally recharge. At the time, I didn’t even know professional organizing was a career. I just thought, "This is the way I show my love for people." Lending an ear and organizing their space.

Our favorite projects are the ones where our clients cry at the end during our walkthrough. When we hear them say, "It would have taken me hundreds of hours to do this on my own," or "I would have never thought to organize items in that way," or "You've changed my life, and I feel like I can breathe," we know we’ve made a meaningful impact.

Game Changers

One of the biggest game changers in our business has been adding an organizing products warehouse. Since we have a dedicated inventory space, we can now pull bins, baskets, and organizing solutions in advance, allowing us to work more efficiently. This has significantly improved our ability to organize spaces faster—from the time a client inquires to the time we are in their home, it’s about two weeks, project depending.

We are most proud of our growing team. Each team member has a diverse background and brings their unique experience of organization. We constantly discuss different ways to understand our clients and help them overcome the challenges of a disorganized space. We explore how to cater to every household member by asking deep questions to streamline systems effectively.

Since we opened, we have added more organizers, a project manager, an inventory manager, and administrative support. We have placed people where they are successful and challenged to maintain engagement. Our team loves that every project is different, every space is different, and each new client means our Green Mountain Space family is growing.

One project that stands out was a mom of two young kids whose real estate business was booming. Her primary closet needed a reset. Instead of just organizing the shelves and clothes, we realized her closet would never function unless we overhauled it and expanded her hanging space. Our project manager reimagined the space, and our team transformed this standard contractor-grade closet into a beautiful, functional space our client was proud to use daily.

Looking Ahead to the Future

Our top 6 goals for the next year include:

#1 Building our warehouse inventory to bring you the best products fast! With our new Inventory Manager streamlining our operating procedures and studying market trends, we are fueled with confidence on finding the best products for our clients organizing projects!

#2 Expanding our business organizing services. We recently helped a boutique law firm organize their common spaces, break room, and supply closet after expanding their team. The business owner said, "I'm just so busy I don't have time to do it." In just one day, two organizers transformed four spaces, taking them from flustered to fluidity.

#3 We are looking forward to assisting more clients with their renovation projects. We have partnered with local builders and renovation companies to help clients declutter and donate before renovations, pack their belongings for storage during demolition, and work with interior designers and architects to optimize layouts. After renovations, our team unpacks, organizes, and streamlines the space. #4 Training our organizers and incorporating power tool skills. We love to hang track systems, Elfa shelves, and photos. We want to be a one-stop shop for our clients on all things organization. While we have a weight limit of 50 pounds per item, we have trusted vendors who show up the same day for heavier installations!

#5 We are also excited about our revamped Referral Program! When you refer a client for an organizing project, and they book, you get a free hour of organizing. In February, we’re running our "Double the Love" event—where you get two hours of organizing for each referred and booked client. If you haven’t been a client before, you can still refer us and stack your hours toward your future project. Your referral credit hours never expire! #6 We are aiming for Green Mountain Space expanding into different area markets. We would love to build a full team in Henderson County and surrounding Western North Carolina counties. We envision a dedicated team in the Hendersonville market, including a project manager, one lead organizer, and two assistant organizers.

Our Hope

We hope to continue making an impact rooted in compassion. Life gets messy and disorganized, and our team is here to help process and reset your space. When life gets chaotic, and a friend or neighbor says, "I just feel like I can't keep up," we want to be the first name that comes to mind. When a local business owner is overwhelmed, we want to be their go-to for setting up systems and strategy. When someone closes on their home, we want realtors to say, "Have you hired an organizer to help you unpack and get set up?"
